A Scenario Is Not a Prompt

Last week I was at SaaStr AI Annual in the SF Bay Area. Agents, automation, speed. I was probably the only person there thinking about controlling the whole time.
A scenario is not a prompt.
AI can generate text very quickly today. Analysis. A first assessment. For many tasks that is enormously helpful. In a finance context it is not enough.
A good scenario is more than an alternative description of the future. It shows which assumption was changed, which driver is affected, and what effect follows from it.
What happens if volume, price, material costs or capacity run differently from plan? Which measure actually takes effect then? And which decision would management have to make differently today?
That is exactly where corporate steering begins.
The easier it becomes to generate answers, the more it matters to model the right relationships.
